Girona’s Fantastic Flower Festival: the Temps de Flors

Every spring Girona, the captivating capital of Catalonia’s Costa Brava, gets decked out in flowers for the Temps de Flors. From May 13 – 21, 2017, Girona’s picturesque Old Town will be brimming with fanciful florals that fill its monuments, squares, churches, parks and shop windows. Many private courtyards and gardens, usually closed to the public, open to display floral creations. Complimenting the flowery spectacle are superb music, cuisine and events.

Every winter the city of Nice, capital of France’s Côte d’Azur, throws a massive party – Carnival! For a few weeks in late February/early March the people of Nice celebrate with gusto, staging lavish parades, ceremonies, and street parties. And it’s not only the denizens of Nice who celebrate – folks from the surrounding region and all over the world flock to Nice for the festivities. Annually a million people join the fun of Carnival in Nice.
